Loppisjakten
Sweden's flea market finder
The Brief
Loppisjakten is a Swedish platform that helps people find flea markets, garage sales, and secondhand events across the country. With over 1,000 active listings and thousands of monthly visitors, it's the go-to resource for Sweden's thriving thrift culture. The challenge was building a product that could ingest messy, unstructured data from Facebook groups and event pages, normalise it, and present it through a beautiful, map-centric interface.

How we built it
This was the most technically complex project we've built. The data pipeline alone consists of automated Facebook scrapers that run on schedule, an AI-powered NLP layer that extracts dates, locations, and descriptions from free-text posts, and a geocoding service that plots every listing on an interactive Mapbox map.
The frontend is a Next.js app with server-side rendering for SEO, a map-first search experience, filtering by region and date, and social features like favouriting and sharing. Pro users unlock premium features through Stripe-integrated subscriptions, including featured listings and analytics dashboards.
Social media automation handles Instagram and Facebook posting on a schedule, creating engaging graphics from listing data and publishing them automatically. The entire system runs on Firebase with Cloud Functions, keeping costs lean while handling significant traffic spikes around holiday weekends when flea market activity peaks.

Impact & outcomes
Loppisjakten has grown to 1,000+ active listings with 15,000+ monthly visitors, entirely through organic search and social media automation. The automated scrapers process 200+ new listings per week without manual intervention. Pro subscription revenue covers infrastructure costs, and the platform has been featured in Swedish media as a go-to resource for secondhand culture.
